I made this "Cook Wanted" sign from the left over wood of an old attic ladder and it's been hanging over my stove for years. Well, last week it occured to me that I should make a pot rack out of it. Three nails and some pots [or pans]. What could be easier?

Mother Goose in the Parking Lot
This Mother Goose was here last year but her eggs never hatched. So, I, along with my co-workers, am very happy she came back to try again, and succeeded! You can barely see them, but there are three little goslings(?). One is peeking out on her right and two on her left.

dada - The Little Band That Could
I came home today to a surprise package in the mailbox. A live dvd bootleg of my favorite band, dada. I immediately sat down, work cloths and all, and watched for a solid 2 hours, one of the best rock bands....ever.
Now, if you've lived on this earth long enough and somehow do not know who they are, you'd best scoot on over to their online player at dadatheband.com/player and get yourself up to speed.
I can't say enough good things about this band. Actually, I can't believe I haven't talked about them until now. [except for a New Year's Eve video I posted a while back]
I really hate doing this, but let me point out one song you might already know, but didn't really know you knew. Ever hear a tune that goes something like this...
Dizz Knee Land
That was their first single from 1992. It actually went to #5 on the Modern Rock Charts.
Whether you like it, hate it, don't remember it or do, this band, is so much more than just one song. For starters, they are a rock trio with a big sweet sound that you can't put into just one category. They have great harmonies and intricate guitar playing by Michael Gurley, who, I'm saying out loud, is one of the best guitarists on the freaking planet. This is a band's band. Meaning, a good number of people standing in the crowd at their shows are musicians themselves. If that's not a glowing endorsement right there, I don't know what is.
They've got songs for every mood in which you could ever possibly find yourself. And isn't that why we love music so much? It is the soundtrack to our lives, isn't it?
So, please, do yourself, myself and this band a favor and just click here dadatheband.com/player while you're at work, or doing the bills or reading all those blogs you try to keep up with, or even while you're posting a blog yourself. You can thank me later. I'll be over here, rockin' the night away.

I just created my first Etsy Treasury List!! I feel like a proud mama showing off her kids' artwork. Now, if I could only buy everything on the list.

Things Found In The Dirt
Three headed Daffodils found in the parents' yard.

Vintage Pepsi bottles found in the parents' yard.

When the bottles are clean, we'll put some daffodils in them. How fitting.

I'm Such a Loser...but I'm Such a Winner!
I'm such a loser. I know. It's been a while and you're just dying to see the completed cross stitch, right? I haven't worked on that in over a month and have very little progress to show, but here it is anyway, with a sharpie to give some scale. Yes, I know. It's so small I should have it completed by now.

Let's move on. What is that hiding behind the littlest cross stitch?
I'm such a Winner! Thanks to Hasmin's giveaway at her blog @ home in paradise, I am the happy recipient of this lovely Deco Clay flower arrangement, handmade by Hasmin, herself.

Isn't it pretty? From all angles.

She also sent me some awesome Kona Chocolate Chip Cookie Coffee (heaven in a cup) and the motherload of chocolate Macadamia nuts. All wonderful goodies from the island of O'ahu. Mahalo, Hasmin!
