I just had to put this in print (or pixels) since we had such a struggle making a decision. My friend (Poo) and I are starting our own little book club and our first reading will be George Orwell's 1949 novel, '1984'.
We've only been talking about it for the past couple of months, so it's about time we committed to something. Other choices on the table were, The Count of Monte Cristo, Great Expectations, Sanditon (Jane Austen's last incomplete novel), or Our Mutual Friend. We kept nixing each other's choices for various reasons and finally settled on this one. It was something that both of us have wanted to read anyway. Now we definitely can't change our minds again. It's written in stone!....or pixels, or bytes.

GOOD BOOK. GOOD CHOICE.
Thanks, ladies!
Hey Foo! SO CRAZY! We just picked a book for our group as well! We're going with Stieg Larsson's "The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo"! buuuuuut I've already loaned mine out! HA! So I may have to check Mr. Orwell out while I'm waiting! T.P.
Now, how in the world do you expect to participate in the book club if you've gone and lent it out, sillY?? lol.
Fantastic books to choose from! I'd gone for Count of Monte Cristo but 1984 is a damn good choice :-)
